CARB Certification for ECIS Intakes ECIS proudly announces CARB Certification for it's line of BMW air intake products*. After a long testing period (2 actually) and three times the projected money spent, ECIS has full approval and certification from the California Air Resource Board on it's BMW intakes*. California residents can now install and run an ECIS intake without fear of failing the visual or exhaust tests when you take your BMW in for annual emissions testing. ECIS and Dinan are the only companies in the BMW aftermarket community that can claim this certification on air intake systems. This certification only applies to California residents. What is new and who will be receiving CARB Certification stickers: Present and future CA customers will automatically receive the CARB Certification sticker with their intake. Past ECIS intake CA customers will fall under three categories: CA Customers that bought directly from ECIS - You will need to contact ECIS with your date of purchase and correct shipping information (Name and address). From there, we will check the info in our database and if everything matches, we will send you a CARB cert. sticker in the mail. The intake you purchased must be installed in YOUR car (not someone elses) and cannot be altered in anyway. CA Customers that bought from one of our distributors - You will need to get Proof Of Purchase from that distributor (if you don't have the original invoice) and send it to ECIS. When we receive the POP and verify the sale and the records match, we will mail you a CARB Cert. sticker. The intake you purchased must be installed in YOUR car (not someone elses) and cannot be altered in anyway. CA Customers that bought an ECIS intake used - You will not be eligible for a CARB Cert. sticker due to the guidelines in the CARB agreement and that tracking of original documents and owners is too difficult. CARB Certification has been a major milestone for us at ECIS and we hope that California customers can now breath easy when heading to the emissions station! * ECIS Euro HFM Kit is not CARB Certified due to the custom computer chip and larger euro mass air flow meter.
